About BErnard Fallon

As a contemporary realist painter his influences are wide and varied, from John William Godward the Neo-classicist to Gustav Klimt and the Viennese Secession with the art nouveau movement, especially the use of gold leaf in oil painting but regardless of style or era the bottom line must be quality. He is also influenced by many Irish painters like William Orpen, Harry Clarke, Seán Keating, Paul Henry, Seán O'Sullivan and Louie Le Brocquy.

Born 1952, from an early age Bernard showed interest in the process of figurative painting, encouraged and instruct by his father John Fallon (The artist and picture restorer). Bernard as a child went on to win a Texaco National Children Art Award.

Bernard largely self-taught briefly attended the NCAD in the 1980’s and continued to progress without formal training.  His idea is that a finished painting should create a source of joy to uplift the viewer to a better place, leaving them enriched from the experience.

As a member of the Water Colour Society of Ireland, he has a water colour painting on permanent display in Limerick University which was part of the W.S.I. group exhibition.
