James Connolly in Battle Dress 'Easter Monday Morning 1916' (N.F.S.)
This painting depicts in my option how James Connolly would have looked in Liberty Hall just before leading the ‘Citizen Army’ out to proclaim a republic in conjunction with the ‘Irish Volunteers’. He's leaving aside the ‘Red Hand’ union badge temporarily.
This portrait is currently hanging in the Revolution 1916 exhibition in Dublin's ambassador. This painting sits as part of the larger exhibition and has been visited by over 50,000 exhibition goers.
